03 MAGNETIC ROPE TESTING (MRT)

Non-destructive. Contactless. Inside the rope.

The MRT method is a non-destructive, magnetic, contactless procedure that detects broken wires, distortions and corrosion on steel wire ropes — including the internal damage a visual inspection can never see.

05 THE INSTRUMENTS

Carried to the rope, read on the spot.

The AMC range covers the full working span of crane ropes: ROPE 22 for smaller ropes, ROPE 40 for mid sizes, and ROPE 65 for the largest — together spanning 6 mm to 65 mm diameter.

Each magnetic head pairs with the IAS-T acquisition unit — a 13″ Windows tablet that records the magnetic signal, displays the defect graph live, and stores the result for reporting.
